The biggest and longest-running phone competition has been between Apple and Samsung. There has been a continual battle between the two titans since the debut of the original Samsung Galaxy S. Although the iPhone 12 may be more appealing to some, the Samsung Galaxy S20 remains a formidable competitor, owing to its cheaper pricing. The two phones all included premium components, elegant fashion styles, and advanced software that didn’t go up in price. There are a variety of iPhone 12 and Galaxy S20 variants available. We will end the debate on iPhone 12 Vs Samsung S20 today.

Continue reading the article. We’ll concentrate on the iPhone 12 and the Galaxy S20’s base model to keep things simple.

iPhone 12 Vs Samsung S20 – Features

Apple’s iPhone 12 is up against Samsung’s Galaxy S20 for your attention. The iPhone has a slight advantage in physical materials, while the S20 has a slight edge in memory and battery size.

The iPhone provides more comfort with Face ID, a more powerful CPU, and some intriguing features. Samsung’s Galaxy S20, on the other hand, has a better display, more excellent storage and RAM, and superior camera zoom functions for approximately the same price. Let get started with iPhone 12 Vs Samsung S20.

Design

The iPhone 12 features a new flat-edge display, but the S20’s curved screen makes accidental touches more likely. In comparison to the iPhone 11, Apple’s Ceramic Shield display offers 4x the drop resistance. The S20 is lighter than Apple’s smartphone, weighing 5.7 ounces vs 5.76 ounces, and has a more prominent notch.

The iPhone 12 gets a unique nano-crystalline Ceramic Shield screen, four times more durable than standard screens. It also features a considerably less noticeable centre hole punch notch and an inconsistent in-display fingerprint sensor that handles identification.

Winner: iPhone 12

Display

Compared to Apple’s 6.1-inch iPhone 12, Samsung’s Galaxy S20 phone features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. Samsung’s screen boasts a better resolution and can refresh at a quicker rate of 120Hz. It also has 163% of the DCI-P3 color space, compared to 81 % on the iPhone 12.

The brightness of Samsung’s panel is also more excellent, hitting 857 nits in our tests. Although both phones have a theoretical peak brightness of 1200 nits, Samsung’s screen performs better in general. On the Galaxy S21, activating 120Hz reduces the resolution to 1080p, while the iPhone 12 can only achieve 1170 x 2532 and 460 ppi.

Winner: Galaxy S20

Camera

Compared to the iPhone 12’s dual-camera arrangement, the Samsung Galaxy S20 features three cameras, yet some similarities. Both phones have 12-megapixel wide-angle cameras, but Samsung adds a telephoto lens for up to 30x magnification. The iPhone 12 produced better-looking images overall in our side-by-side comparisons, making it one of the most OK camera phones available.

Night mode is available on both the iPhone 12 and the Galaxy S20, but the iPhone’s is quicker in every case. The iPhone 12 can capture more of them in the shadows in close-up mode, displaying greater detail.

While the S20 blends everything, you can see more gradations in the rock. The iPhone 12 gets praise for depicting the clouds in the sky more precisely; however, the image has a yellow tint.

Winner: iPhone 12

Performances

The A14 Bionic CPU in the iPhone 12 easily outperforms its Samsung Galaxy S20 equivalent. The iPhone 12 also topped the competition in terms of graphics performance, clocking in at 51 frames per second on the 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited test.

If you want extra power from your Samsung phone, the Galaxy S21 series is a good choice. Both phones come with 5G capability out of the box, although a 4G model with no 5G connection is available in select regions. The iPhone is also available in 128GB and 256GB capacities, but the Galaxy does not provide more storage options.

Winner: iPhone 12

Battery

The battery in the Samsung Galaxy S20 is significantly more extensive than that on the iPhone 12. The S20 lasted 9 hours and 31 minutes compared to 8 hours and 25 minutes for the iPhone. You’ll need to spend $19 on a 20W USB-C power converter if you want to charge your phone quickly.

Much relies on how you set up the Display on the Galaxy S20. The battery will deplete significantly faster at 120Hz or 4K resolution than at 60Hz or 1080p. The iPhone 12’s smaller battery is likely to be harmed more by adding a 5G connection.

Winner: Galaxy S20

Overall Comparison: iPhone 12 Vs Samsung S20

The iPhone 12 boasts a more durable display, quicker speed, and far superior cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S20 is an excellent phone, especially now that it is available for the same or less money. The S20 significantly outperforms the S10 in battery life and charging and having a better 120Hz display.

Final verdict

Despite being introduced in the same year, the iPhone 12 and Galaxy S20 have technology gaps. Both flagships will be replaced by a new model shortly, so you better not wait for the decision. Both phones have fantastic looks and feel, take amazing photos, and have bright OLED screens.

In other words, for the most part, they are the iPhone and the Galaxy phone; however, if you’re a prospective customer who wants to compare the two devices and choose between iOS and Android as an operating system, which matches your requirements at best.
